Porter Airlines Expands Caribbean Service with New Bahamas Route and Increased Flights

2025-10-04

Porter Airlines is significantly enhancing its flight network to the Caribbean this winter, introducing a new route and boosting frequencies on several existing popular services. This expansion reflects a strategic response to the high demand for sun-soaked getaways from Canadian travelers during the colder months.

A major highlight of this expansion is the introduction of Porter's first-ever direct flight from Montreal (YUL) to Nassau, The Bahamas (NAS), commencing on February 5, 2026. This new service will operate three times per week, offering residents of Quebec a convenient option for winter escapes to the beautiful Bahamian islands. In addition to this new route, the airline is increasing capacity on several of its established Caribbean services from key Canadian cities. This includes more frequent flights from Ottawa (YOW) to Grand Cayman (GCM), as well as additional services from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to Cancun (CUN) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL). These enhancements underscore Porter Airlines' commitment to expanding its presence in the Caribbean market.

Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, highlighted that the updated winter schedule represents a substantial increase in the airline's network, driven by the positive customer response to both new and existing routes. All these expanded and new services will be operated using Porter's Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. These modern planes are designed to enhance passenger comfort, featuring a no-middle-seat configuration, complimentary premium snacks, free Wi-Fi access, and a full beverage service served in glassware, ensuring a pleasant travel experience for all passengers.

Porter Airlines' strategic expansion into the Caribbean and sun destinations offers travelers more choices and greater accessibility to popular vacation spots. By providing enhanced services and comfortable travel options, the airline not only meets the growing demand for winter escapes but also fosters a stronger connection between Canada and these vibrant regions. This commitment to growth and passenger satisfaction contributes positively to the travel industry, encouraging exploration and cultural exchange, and ultimately enriching lives through memorable travel experiences.
