In a recent evaluation of airport facilities, the Montreal Trudeau International Airport in Canada has distinguished itself by earning the coveted title of North America's cleanest airport for the year 2025. This esteemed recognition was bestowed through the annual Skytrax World Airport Awards, which compile results from comprehensive customer satisfaction surveys, underscoring the importance of passenger experience in modern air travel. The airport's leadership expressed their satisfaction, noting that their dedication to providing an engaging, lively, and inviting atmosphere for travelers has evidently resonated positively with the public.
Beyond North America, the Skytrax awards also celebrated airports achieving exemplary cleanliness on a global scale. Bahrain International Airport was acknowledged for its outstanding hygiene standards among facilities serving up to 25 million passengers annually. Meanwhile, Tokyo's Haneda Airport received recognition as the cleanest major airport worldwide, indicating a universal commitment to maintaining immaculate environments for international travelers.
Despite not securing the top spot for overall cleanliness in North America, airports across the United States were not without significant honors in the World Airport Awards. These distinctions demonstrate a diverse range of strengths within American aviation, extending beyond mere tidiness to encompass cultural and experiential aspects that enrich the travel journey.
For the third consecutive year, the Houston Airport System in Texas was celebrated for possessing the World's Best Art in the Airport. This consistent win is a testament to its impressive collection of over 400 art pieces strategically placed throughout its terminals, transforming the airport into a vibrant gallery that captivates and inspires travelers. This accolade underscores a growing trend of airports integrating cultural elements to enhance passenger environments.
New York's airports also garnered prestigious awards, showcasing their significant advancements and unique offerings. LaGuardia Airport, once plagued by a less favorable reputation, was recognized as the Best Regional Airport in North America. This award highlights a remarkable transformation, solidifying its status as one of the nation's premier regional hubs. Furthermore, the TWA Hotel located at John F. Kennedy Airport received the title of Best Airport Hotel in North America. Praised for its distinctive retro design and luxurious amenities, such as an aircraft-themed cocktail lounge and a rooftop infinity pool perfect for observing aircraft, the TWA Hotel evokes the golden age of air travel, providing a sophisticated and memorable experience for guests.
