The maiden flight, a soft launch, successfully took off from Nassau at 1:00 p.m. and returned from Great Harbour Cay on Tuesday. Moving forward, the new route will maintain a consistent weekly schedule every Tuesday. Departures from Nassau are set for 1:00 p.m., with return flights from Great Harbour Cay scheduled for 2:00 p.m. This convenient timing is expected to attract more visitors to the charming Out Islands destination.

The launch event was a well-attended affair, featuring a press conference and a ceremonial welcome. Dignitaries from the Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation, representatives from Bahamasair, and officials from Royal Caribbean Cruises were present to celebrate this new chapter in Bahamian tourism. Dr. Kenneth Romer, Director of Aviation and Deputy Director General of Tourism for MOTIA, delivered a key address, underscoring the crucial role of this new air service in enhancing travel options and promoting tourism development within the Berry Islands.

This strategic move by Bahamasair is anticipated to significantly improve the ease of travel to Great Harbour Cay, reinforcing its appeal as a prime Caribbean destination. The increased accessibility is expected to stimulate local economies, create new opportunities, and allow more people to experience the unique beauty and tranquility of the Berry Islands.

The introduction of this direct flight service represents a pivotal step in strengthening air links within The Bahamas and promoting the growth of its vibrant tourism sector. With enhanced connectivity, Great Harbour Cay is poised to become an even more popular choice for travelers seeking an authentic island experience.
